KRISTJAN ČEH
Kristijan is a simple and down to earth person originating from a hard working family of farmers. Because of his height of 206cm he is hard to miss anywhere he goes, just like his presence leaves a postive impression in anyone he encounters. Coach Gorazd Rajher recognised on time what kind of raw diamond he is and started to polish him in order to become on of the best discus throwers in the world.
“It still feels unreal. I didn’t expect such a result so early, not even in my dreams” – Kristjan on 68.75m
ATHLETE & STUDENT
Kristjan is at the moment the only Slovenian Track and Field Athlete from which we can expect Medals at the biggest competitions like the Olympic games and World Championships. On top, many experts of the sport see him as the man who can set a new ultimate record in Discuss throwing. This is why his team is focusing on building and training him carefully. So he can have a long and sustainable career as one of the best Athletes in Discus Throwing, which was originally one of the five events of Heptathlon during the ancient Olympic games.
Kristjan is also a student of Agriculture at the University of Agriculture in Maribor. His family has a farm on which he still helps and enjoys working during his free time. Agriculture is a part of his life and he sees him self being a modern farmer after his career.

THE TEAM
We manage the team and keep everyone in balance.
A coach’s role in an athlete’s life is very crucial for their performance, as he is responsible for planning, organizing and sustaining physical stamina. Those are just a few things a coach is responsible for. Typical responsibilities include: teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques. Also assisting with sports promotion and development.
A mentor makes sure to guide an athlete on the right path in life and in his career field. They are always providing their clients with the tools, guidance, support and feedback to thrive in their career. Often times they went through a similar experience and are now providing others with their knowledge and experiences.
While coaches take care of what happens on the field during the game, a sports manager is responsible for what occurs off the field. A person in this profession is accountable for the business side of sports for their client, including contracts and promotions. Managers also act as their client’s spokesperson.
It’s extremely important for an athlete’s health to stay at the top of the game with nutrition, so the body can endure all of the physical strain. What an athlete consumes affects their mental and physical performance. A nutritionist and an athlete usually set a short-term or a long-term goal after discussing what they want to achieve. The purpose of the nutrition plan will also be to help an athlete recover as quickly as possible following a game, competition or workout.
Making sure an athlete’s mind stays focused and on the right track. Various mental strategies, such as visualization, self-talk and relaxation techniques, can help athletes overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. Helping to cope with the pressures of competition. These are just a few things that a psychologist helps with.
Keeping those muscles and bones functioning properly, a physiotherapist also helps to restore movement and function when affected by injury, illness or disability, so an athlete’s performance always stays on top. Although physiotherapy is a science-based profession, it also takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing.
